Lost–Call To An Angel

January 24th, 2007 at 3:34 pm (Scott Ennis, Love)

My hope is to be found when I am lost
In place or time, in reverie or thought
By my own will or circumstances tossed
Into that realm where wanderers are caught
Between confusion’s gate and some broad field
I see myself alone and turned around
The stars by clouds are suddenly concealed
And I am staring blankly at the ground
I need an angel’s prayers to guide my feet
I need an angel’s wings to guard my heart
An angel’s song would never sound as sweet
As when it’s sung while we are far apart
What hand will find my hand and be my guide?
What angel comes to stand here by my side?www.sonntwriters.com

YEAR 3000

Year 3000
(J. Bourne, M. Jay, C. Simpson, S. Robson)

One day when I came home at lunchtime I heard a funny noise Whet out to the back yard to find out if it was One of those rowdy boys Stood there with my neighbor called Peter And a flux capacitor

He told me he built a time machine Like the one in the film I’ve seen Yeah yeah ..he said

(Chorus)
I’ve been to the year three thousand Not much has changed but they lived under water And your great great great granddaughter Is doing fine

He took me to the future in the flux thing And I saw everything Boybands and another one and another And another one Girls there with round hair like star wars Float above the floor

We drove around in a time machine Like the one in the film I’ve seen Yeah yeah..he said…

(Chorus)
I’ve been to the year three thousand Not much has changed but they lived under water And your great great great granddaughter Is doing fine

(Bridge)
I took a trip to the year 3000 This song had gone multi platinum Everybody bought our seventh album It had outsold Kelly Clarkson I took a trip to the year 3000 This song had gone multi platinum Everybody bought our seventh album

HINDER LYRICS
BALLAD
"Lips Of An Angel"

Honey why you calling me so late?
It's kinda hard to talk right now.
Honey why are you crying? Is everything okay?
I gotta whisper 'cause I can't be too loud

Well, my girl's in the next room
Sometimes I wish she was you
I guess we never really moved on
It's really good to hear your voice say my name
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those words it makes me weak

And I never wanna say goodbye
But girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel

It's funny that you're calling me tonight
And, yes, I've dreamt of you too
And does he know you're talking to me
Will it start a fight
No I don't think she has a clue

Well my girl's in the next room
Sometimes I wish she was you
I guess we never really moved on
It's really good to hear your voice say my name
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those words it makes me weak

And I never wanna say goodbye
But girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel

It's really good to hear your voice say my name
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those words it makes me weak

And I never wanna say goodbye
But girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel

And I never wanna say goodbye
But girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel

Honey why you calling me so late?

JESSE MCCARTNEY LYRICS

"Right Where You Want Me"

Girl,
There's something 'bout me that you ought to know.
I've never felt the need to lose control.
Always held on back and played it slow.
But not this time.
Baby, don't be gentle,
I can handle anything.

Baby,
Take me on a journey.
I've been thinking lately,
I could use a little time alone with you.
Crazy,
Let's do something, maybe.
Please don't take your time,
You got me,
Right where you want me.

Girl,
I'm gonna let you have your way with me.
But when you move like that,
Its hard to breathe.
I never thought that it could be like this,
But I was wrong.
Baby, don't be gentle,
I can handle anything.

Baby,
Take me on a journey.
I've been thinking lately,
I could use a little time alone with you.
Crazy,
Let's do something, maybe.
Please don't take your time,
You got me,
Right where you want me.

Can't explain it,
How you swept me off my feet, unexpectedly.
In slow motion,
My imagination's running, trying to keep my body still,
I can hardly stand the thrill.

Baby, don't be gentle,
I can handle anything.

Baby,
Take me on a journey.
I've been thinking lately,
I could use a little time alone with you.
Crazy,
Let's do something, maybe.
Please don't take your time,
You got me,
Right where you want me.

Introduction

Christmas Party times of the 80's. How that generation "tiptoed through the tulips".

An Eighties Christmas Flashback

'Twas the night before Friday
and all through the town,
no cops were cruising,
no narks were around.

As we all rolled our joints
to be put in our sacks,
we knew that soon
we'd be stoned to the max.

We drank Jack Daniel's
And smoked Panama Red,
a hit of tea
and man I felt dead.

We were all up that midnight
all of the day, when
there was a knock at the door
that gave us away.

There stood a man
wearing a smile,
so we invited him in
to party a while.

What to our red,
glassy eyes should appear,
two pounds of Columbia
and a case of beer.

So we sat down
and he started to roll,
filled up a glass
and lit up a bowl.

We ask the man
what was his name,
he said Saint Nichol
and drugs is my fame.

So as the man
strutted out of sight,
he said mari-ju-ana to all
and to all a good night.

Shopping for Yesterday

Busy crowds, lonely hearts, broken dreams
Shopping for yesterday.
Visiting the shared moments,
In all the familiar places
When shopping for yesterday.

We are all prisoners of the past
When shopping for yesterday
Knee deep in our loneliness
Surrounded by the crowd
We’re shopping for yesterday.

Pictures and memories
Half-forgotten words
Time slipping away
From the windmills of my mind
When shopping for yesterday.
